      Terry S. Brown

      Managing Partner

      Terry S. Brown is a founder and Managing Partner of Asana Partners. Brown has 33 years of commercial real estate experience in retail strategy/merchandising, investments, capital markets, operations, and business and organizational development.

      Prior to co-founding Asana Partners, Brown was the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate.

      Prior to EDENS, Brown was the Chief Executive Officer of Andersen Corporate Finance, LLC (NASD Broker Dealer subsidiary of Arthur Andersen) where he was responsible for strategy and investment banking activities on a global basis across the real estate, manufacturing, technology, services, and energy industries. At Andersen, Brown was a recognized industry leader in the formation and recapitalization of entity-level corporate real estate transactions leading to initial public offerings and institutionally capitalized private companies. Prior to Andersen, he was a United States Army Officer.

      Brown is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers where he is a former Trustee and Executive Committee member. Additionally, Brown serves on the Board of Directors of AvalonBay Communities. He was named a 2011 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Regional Award winner and National Finalist. Brown also has appeared frequently as an industry expert on Bloomberg TV, CNBC, and Fox Business. Brown is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

      Jason K. Tompkins

      Managing Partner

      Jason K. Tompkins is a founder and Managing Partner of Asana Partners. Tompkins has 24 years of commercial real estate experience in investments, asset management,  operations, capital markets, and institutional investor relations. Tompkins has served as lead execution officer on more than $20 billion of private and public real estate and capital markets transactions, including portfolio and company acquisitions, private equity placements, initial public offerings, joint ventures, secured financings, and unsecured financings.

      Prior to co-founding Asana Partners, Tompkins was the Chief Financial Officer of EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate.

      Prior to EDENS, Tompkins was a Vice President with Wachovia Securities’ Real Estate Investment Banking where he was responsible for the execution of private and public acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Prior to Wachovia Securities, Tompkins was a Director with Andersen Corporate Finance, LLC (NASD Broker-Dealer subsidiary of Arthur Andersen) where he was responsible for the execution of portfolio and company sales, joint ventures, and private equity placements. Prior to Andersen, Tompkins was a Vice President of European Mergers and Acquisitions with GE Capital Real Estate in Paris, France.

      Tompkins is a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hammond School. He is a member of Liberty Fellowship, a global leadership initiative sponsored by the Aspen Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers; the Pension Real Estate Association, and the Urban Land Institute. Tompkins is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and has completed executive management coursework at the Wharton School, the Aspen Institute, and INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

      Managing Partner

      Sam E. Judd is a founder and Managing Partner of Asana Partners. Judd has 16 years of retail real estate experience in acquisitions, dispositions, development, redevelopment, leasing and operations, and has led real estate transactions in most major markets in the United States, including Boston, New York, Washington, DC, Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

      Prior to co-founding Asana Partners, Judd was the Vice President of Real Estate of Sears Holdings Corporation. At Sears, Judd led the development subsidiary of Sears Holdings (Seritage Realty Trust) in executing redevelopments, anchor leasing, and strategic transactions for Sears and Kmart properties across the United States. In addition, Judd co-led the Sears Real Estate team in the formation and July 2015 launch of Seritage Growth Properties, a $2.5 billion publicly traded REIT. While at Sears, Judd had overall responsibility for the planning and execution of more than two million square feet of development activity and the establishment of key anchor retailer relationships across the United States.

      Prior to Sears Holdings, Judd led the Northeast Region for EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. At EDENS, Judd directed the development, redevelopment, leasing, and operations for more than four million square feet of retail real estate and served on the Development and Investment Committees.

      Judd earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Development and he  is a graduate of Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

      Managing Director

      Reed A. Kracke is a Managing Director of Asana Partners.  Kracke has 12 years of industry experience including redevelopment, development, parcel assemblage and entitlement, and acquisitions. At Asana Partners, Kracke is a member of the Investment Committee and has overall responsibility for redevelopment, development, tenant build-out activities,  and acquisitions in the mid-Atlantic target markets.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Kracke was a Vice President – Development at EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. At EDENS, Kracke led urban redevelopment and development activity in the Washington, DC MSA including the management of leasing, design, and construction for approximately 650,000 square feet of urban retail redevelopment and development projects. Kracke executed more than $400 million of transactions including structured forward take-outs with national multi-family developers for ground floor retail condominium interests, tax increment financing for mixed-use development, and urban parcel assemblage.

      Prior to EDENS, Kracke held a retailer consulting position with Accenture, an international consulting and outsourcing firm, working with retailers to increase efficiencies in critical management functions. 

      Kracke has volunteered with the Junior Achievement Program and is actively involved in the Real Estate professional community as a member of ULI and ICSC.  Kracke is a graduate of the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

      Managing Director

      Brian R. Purcell is a Managing Director of Asana Partners. Purcell has 12 years of commercial real estate experience in acquisitions, portfolio management, asset management, development, dispositions, and leasing in major markets in the United States. At Asana Partners, Purcell is a member of the Investment Committee and has overall responsibility for acquisitions.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Purcell was a Director of Asset Management at USAA Real Estate Company, an investment management firm with over $15 billion in assets under management. In that role, Purcell oversaw a commercial real estate portfolio of over two million square feet located in the central region of the United States. Prior to his role in Asset Management, he was a Director of Portfolio Management, focusing on investments for multiple funds and separate accounts.

      Prior to USAA Real Estate Company, Purcell was a Vice President at Lincoln Harris focused exclusively on retail real estate. Purcell began his real estate career at CBRE Group where he focused on shopping center investment sales and retail brokerage.

      Purcell is a member of the Urban Land Institute, where he currently serves on the Capital Markets Council, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Deep Ellum Foundation.

      Purcell earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a concentration in Real Estate and Corporate Finance, where he was the recipient of the Trammel Crow Residential/Leonard Wood Fellowship and a Dean’s Fellowship, and currently serves on the faculty.  Purcell is a graduate of Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

      Director – Investments

      Justin T. Kundrak is a Director – Investments at Asana Partners.  Kundrak has 7 years of industry experience in real estate transaction sourcing, negotiation, structuring, and execution. At Asana Partners, Kundrak leads acquisitions and dispositions for target markets in the Western U.S.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Kundrak was a Director at HFF, one of the nation’s largest capital markets intermediaries. At HFF, Kundrak focused on advising clients on the sale and recapitalization of retail and mixed-use real estate assets in the Western U.S. Over the course of his career at HFF, Kundrak was directly involved in over $5 billion of acquisition, disposition, and recapitalization transactions.

      Kundrak is actively involved in the Southern California real estate professional community as a member of ICSC and NAIOP, with leadership positions in the ICSC SoCal Planning Board and NAIIOP YPG Alumni Committee.  Kundrak is a graduate of Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

      Brad M. Kantrowitz is a Senior Associate – Investments at Asana Partners. Kantrowitz has over eight years of real estate experience, including investments, capital markets, portfolio management, and accounting.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Kantrowitz was an Associate with Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Real Estate Investment Banking group where he executed more than $17 billion of real estate and capital markets transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, initial public offerings, and debt financings. Key transactions included the sale of Education Realty Trust to Greystar, Americold Realty Trust’s initial public offering, and acquisition financing for Brookfield’s acquisition of GGP.

      Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Kantrowitz worked at GTIS Partners, a ~$5 billion real estate investment management firm. His responsibilities included acquisitions, portfolio management, and accounting for GTIS Partners’ Brazil funds. Prior to GTIS Partners, Kantrowitz was a Senior Associate with KPMG where he performed financial due diligence and audited real estate firms.

      Kantrowitz earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a concentration in Real Estate and Corporate Finance and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Kantrowitz is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

      Senior Associate – Investments

      Matthew P. Muse is a Senior Associate – Investments at Asana Partners. Muse has five years of commercial real estate experience in acquisitions and development in a variety of markets across the United States.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Muse served as a lead Investment Analyst in the Atlanta office of PGIM Real Estate (formerly Prudential Real Estate Investors). At PGIM, Muse assisted in the closing of $1.5 billion of acquisitions and joint venture developments on behalf of various open-end, closed-end, and single-client investment vehicles. Muse handled investment opportunities spanning all property types: retail, office, multifamily, industrial, hotel, and self-storage. Muse was responsible for financial analysis, preparation of investment committee materials, coordination of due diligence efforts through closing, and management of partner/broker relations. PGIM Real Estate manages $66.0 billion of gross assets with a track record spanning over 45 years.

      Muse is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and concentrations in Finance and Real Estate. Muse is actively involved in the Real Estate professional community as a member of ULI and ICSC.

      Briana N. Baffer is an Analyst – Investments at Asana Partners. Baffer has commercial real estate experience in acquisitions and capital markets in the Southeast.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Baffer was an Intern at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Real Estate Syndications group. Prior to Bank of America, Baffer was an Intern at The Dilweg Companies, a private real estate investment firm in the Southeast, focusing on regional acquisitions. In that role, Baffer underwrote over $600 million in investment opportunities.

      Baffer received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Baffer graduated in May 2017 with a degree in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School where she concentrated in Real Estate and Finance.

      Nick M. Garrett is an Analyst – Investments at Asana Partners.

      Prior to accepting a full-time position, Garrett worked as an intern at Asana Partners from May 2016 through December 2018. During this time, Garrett worked in various capacities with the Asset Management, Capital Markets, Development, and Investments teams.

      Garrett graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Additionally, Garrett earned his Certificate in Personal and Organizational Leadership as a Leonard Scholar in the Terry College’s Institute for Leadership Advancement.

      Martha Stewart Joiner is an Analyst – Investments at Asana Partners. Fuqua has commercial real estate experience in investment sales in the Southeast.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Joiner was an Investment Sales Intern at Colliers International. At Colliers, Joiner was responsible for compiling market sales data and generating property cash flows for prospective offerings on behalf of the Atlanta office investment sales team. Prior to Colliers International, Joiner was an Intern at Southeast Venture in Nashville.

      Joiner received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Joiner graduated in May 2017 with a degree in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School where she concentrated in Real Estate and Finance.

      R. Seth Black is a  Managing Director of Asana Partners. Black has 14 years of real estate value creation experience in portfolio management, property operations, analytical investment management, capital markets, accounting, and tax. At Asana Partners, Black is a member of the Investment Committee and has overall responsibility for acquisition onboarding, asset management, and property management.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Black was the Chief Financial Officer of Adamant Energy, a real estate focused sustainability solutions provider.

      Prior to Adamant Energy, Black was the Vice President - Portfolio Management of EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. At EDENS, Black led financial, portfolio, and valuation reporting to management and shareholders, analytical investment management, and business systems integration. In addition, Black played an integral role in over $4.0 billion of capital markets transactions that included institutional equity placements, follow-on capital commitments, unsecured and secured debt placements, and the acquisition and integration of a public REIT. Black started his career at Grant Thornton, providing consulting services to large and mid-cap real estate, transportation, and financial services clients.

      Black earned a Master of Accountancy from the Darla Moore School of Business of the University of South Carolina, and he is a graduate of Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  Black is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

      Chris R. Dalton is a Director – Asset Management at Asana Partners. Dalton has eight years of commercial real estate experience in capital markets, asset management, sustainability, development, dispositions, site selection, and retail strategy.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Dalton was a Principal at Adamant Energy, a real estate focused sustainability solutions provider. 

      Prior to Adamant Energy, Dalton was the New York Regional Director for Pure Barre, an L Catterton portfolio company and one of the nation’s leading fitness brands with over 450 locations. Additional portfolio companies of L Catterton include, or have included, Restoration Hardware, Fly Wheel, Caribou Coffee, Chopt, Corepower Yoga, and Pirch. In that role, Dalton oversaw the site selection, build-out, opening, and on-going operations of six corporate Pure Barre studios in the greater New York metro area.  Prior to his role in operations, he was the Director of Real Estate, focusing on site selection, lease negotiation, and platform expansion in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Chicago metro areas.

      Prior to Pure Barre, Dalton worked at EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. At EDENS, Dalton completed the company's Financial Management Training Program (“FMP”) and played key roles in capital markets, asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, and development. Upon completion of the FMP, Dalton transitioned to the Northeast Investments team where he was the primary analyst responsible for acquisitions, redevelopment, development, and asset management for more than four million square feet of retail investments.

      Dalton is a graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance.

      Director – Development

      G. Welch Liles, III is the Director – Development at Asana Partners. Liles has over eight years of industry experience in construction management and development.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Liles was a Project Manager for Choate Construction, a leading general contractor and construction management company. While at Choate, Liles was responsible for the contracting, budget management, scheduling, value engineering, and coordination of day to day construction operations for new construction and base build projects. He has executed the completion of over $150 million and 1,000,000 square feet of mixed use, office, and retail developments. Prior to Choate, Liles held a Project Manager position for Balfour Beatty Construction, one of the largest general contractors in the United States.

      Liles is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Liles is an active member of the NAIOP Developing Leaders and the Urban Land Institute.

      Hayes C. Brown is a Senior Associate – Asset Management at Asana Partners. Brown has five years of experience in the commercial real estate industry.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Brown was a relationship manager in Wells Fargo Bank’s REIT Finance Group. At Wells Fargo, Brown was responsible for underwriting, loan structuring, and ongoing portfolio management for public and private REITs across various commercial real estate sectors. In this role, Brown was involved in over 40 transactions of corporate debt facilities totaling loan volume in excess of $20 billion. Brown also oversaw a loan portfolio of over $1 billion for REIT clients in the Southeast and Midwest regions.

      Brown is a magna cum laude graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance.

      Senior Associate – Asset Management

      Cailey A. Rowe is a Senior Associate – Asset Management at Asana Partners. Rowe has three years of accounting experience.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Rowe was an Audit and Assurance Senior with Grant Thornton LLP, where she provided assurance and advisory services to both publicly traded and private companies in industries including construction/home builders, technology distributors, commercial services, and manufacturing.  At Grant Thornton LLP, Rowe was responsible for conducting financial statement audits, including reviewing various transaction cycles and analyzing financial statements.

      Rowe is a member of the United Way of the Midlands Young Leaders Society and volunteers with a variety of local organizations. Rowe earned a Master of Accountancy from the Darla Moore School of Business of the University of South Carolina with a concentration in Business Measurement and Assurance, and she is a graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Minor in Business. Rowe is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

      Matthew P. Saylor is a Senior Associate – Asset Management at Asana Partners. Saylor has five years of experience in the commercial real estate industry.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Saylor was an Associate in Asset Management at Jamestown. At Jamestown, Saylor was responsible for financial analysis, budget and forecasting, lease review, and the preparation of investment committee materials for retail, office and mixed-use assets in Atlanta, New York City, and San Francisco. Saylor also participated in seven disposition transactions with a combined market value of $3.5 billion including the sale of Chelsea Market in New York City.

      Saylor is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate.

      Senior Associate

      Bethany McCain Seewoester is a Senior Associate at Asana Partners. Seewoester has five years of experience in the commercial real estate industry.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Seewoester was an Associate within the Project Management team at Hodes Weill & Associates, a leading, global capital advisory firm focused on the real estate investment and funds management industry. At Hodes Weill, Seewoester was responsible for driving the institutional capital raising process for numerous funds and separate accounts, including Asana Partners Funds I and II. Seewoester worked on institutional capital raises totaling approximately $3.2 billion during her tenure at Hodes Weill. Before joining Hodes Weill, Seewoester was an Analyst at J.P. Morgan, where she worked in CMBS Capital Markets.

      Seewoester is a Summa Cum Laude graduate with Highest Honors from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Affairs.

      Jimmy J. Bambrick is a Senior Associate – Capital Markets at Asana Partners. Bambrick has four years of capital markets experience within the commercial real estate industry.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Bambrick was an Associate at RBC Capital Markets, where he conducted fundamental research of real estate markets and individual public REITs. At RBC, Bambrick constructed and maintained financial models, performed market analyses, published research notes, and communicated investment recommendations to institutional investors. Bambrick also led the research and writing of topical reports including ‘Street retail rising – a look at the next retail wave’, a detailed assessment of the street retail real estate landscape and its growth potential. While at RBC, the RBC REIT Team climbed to #5 in Institutional Investor’s annual ranking of the nation’s best sell-side analysts.

      Bambrick is a summa cum laude graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Finance.

      Christopher R. Alexander is an Associate – Asset Management at Asana Partners. Alexander has investment and asset management experience in real estate and global financial markets.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Alexander was a Senior Analyst at the South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission serving on the Real Assets team. While at the RSIC, he underwrote third-party investment management firms for large capital investments across the real estate and infrastructure sectors globally.

      Alexander is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Finance with a concentration in Economics. Alexander has earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.

      Associate – Development

      Craig Aulebach is an Associate – Development of Asana Partners. Aulebach has over seven years of experience working in the commercial real estate industry.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Aulebach was a Project Manager for CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm. While at CBRE, Aulebach worked on CBRE’s Bank of America account for 5 years, providing dedicated project management services for the bank’s national retail financial center network. Following this role, Aulebach became a project manger for CBRE’s Carolina market team where he was responsible for managing projects for building owners, occupiers, and corporate clients in the region. Aulebach has experience working in a variety of property types including office, retail, and industrial.

      Aulebach is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Finance and Development.

      Jack L. Sullivan

      Associate – Asset Management

      Jack L. Sullivan is a Senior Associate – Capital Markets & Asset Management at Asana Partners. Sullivan has over three years of investment management experience and one year of experience within the commercial real estate industry.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Sullivan was an Investment Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, Sullivan served private clients and institutions, with a particular focus on asset allocation, portfolio strategies, and investment manager selection. He assisted in the oversight of the asset allocation and investment process for over $3 billion in assets. Sullivan also was responsible for portfolio monitoring and evaluation, and producing capital markets research.

      Sullivan received a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University with concentrations in Investments, Real Estate, and International Studies. Sullivan is a cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Economics.

      Wood P. Britton IV is an Analyst – Development at Asana Partners.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Britton was a Development Analyst at Johnson Development Associates, Inc., a real estate developer specializing in the development of industrial, multifamily, and self-storage facilities throughout the United States. In this role, Britton managed the development of Class A self-storage facilities in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. Britton also oversaw construction-related asset management tasks for operating facilities throughout the Southeast.

      Britton is a graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance.

      Managing Director

      Will M. Ponder is a Managing Director at Asana Partners. Ponder has 18 years of commercial real estate experience in leasing, operations, acquisitions, dispositions, development, redevelopment, and capital markets. 

      Prior to joining Asana Partners, Ponder was Vice President of Acquisitions at Phillips Edison & Company, where he led and executed retail shopping center acquisitions for a $6 billion institutional grocery-anchored retail platform. Prior to Phillips Edison & Company, Ponder was Senior Real Estate Advisor for Sears Holdings Corporation, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Adamant Energy, and Vice President at EDENS, where he led the leasing, operations, and investment strategy formulation for the Southeast portfolio.

      Ponder received a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a concentration in Real Estate, where he was a Michaux Fellow. Ponder is a graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

      Katie W. Grissom is a Director – Merchandising & Leasing at Asana Partners. Grissom has five years of commercial real estate experience in operations and leasing.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Grissom was the Director of Franchise Consulting at Pure Barre, an L Catterton portfolio company and one of the nation’s leading fitness brands with over 450 locations. Additional portfolio companies of L Catterton include, or have included, Restoration Hardware, Fly Wheel, Caribou Coffee, Chopt, Corepower Yoga, and Pirch. At Pure Barre, Grissom’s team was responsible for driving studio level financial performance and increasing same store sales. Grissom was responsible for consulting and operations across the entire store base, many of which share overlapping demographic attributes with the Asana Partners target market strategy. Prior to her role in franchise consulting, Grissom led corporate studios from California to Florida. She started as an analyst on the Real Estate team at Pure Barre in 2013.

      Grissom has volunteered with the Junior League Upstate since 2013, and actively supports local micro-lending organizations in the Charlotte area. She is involved in the Real Estate professional community as a member of ICSC. Grissom is a graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Spanish and a Minor in Economics.

      Clare E. Walsh is a Director – Merchandising & Leasing at Asana Partners. Walsh has seven years of commercial real estate experience in operations and leasing.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Walsh was a Senior Leasing Representative at Brookfield Properties Retail Group (BPRG), formerly GGP Inc., an S&P 500 retail real estate company. Brookfield Properties Retail Group is one of the largest retail real estate companies in the country with over 160 properties across 42 states, totaling 146 million square feet of retail space. Walsh was responsible for the restaurant leasing of fifteen properties across eight states along the West Coast, totaling over one million square feet.

      Prior to BPRG, Walsh worked for EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. At EDENS, Walsh was responsible for leasing the urban re-development project, Union Market in Washington, DC.

      Walsh is a graduate of American University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Business and Marketing. She is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and resides in Los Angeles.

      Maggie E. Leonard is a Senior Associate – Retail Strategy at Asana Partners. She has seven years of experience advising brands, retailers and developers on strategic growth initiatives and business optimization.

      Prior to joining Asana Partners, Leonard was Director of Business Development at Fit Atelier, an experiential fitness retailer merging high-performance activewear and innovative boutique workouts. She also served as Director of Digital and Business Development for Borghese, an iconic heritage beauty company, as it navigated a transformative restage and repositioning. Previously, Leonard worked at TRAUB, a global business development and strategy consulting firm, where she advised retailers on implementing strategic growth opportunities and worked alongside real estate developers to bring innovative merchandising strategies to iconic developments. Leonard began her career in investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities within their Consumer & Retail practice.

      Leonard is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

      K.C. Russell is an Associate – Merchandising & Leasing at Asana Partners. Russell has leasing and marketing experience.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Russell was a designer at Gabriella White, where she provided design direction for new construction and redevelopment projects across the Southeast. At Gabriella White, Russell was selected as a designer for the Christopher AI ShowHouse, benefiting the Open Hands Overflowing Hearts foundation. Prior to Gabriella White, Russell was an Intern at Lorraine G. Vale Design, LLC, a design planning firm in Charleston, South Carolina. In that role, Russell assisted in the development of several residential, commercial, and multi-family projects in and around the Charleston area. At Lorraine G. Vale Design, LLC, Russell also assisted in the expansion of their target market vendors and helped them to gain new business.

      Russell has volunteered with Uhuru Child, with whom she recently traveled to Nairobi, Africa. She is active in a variety of other local organizations. Russell is a graduate of The University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a Minor in Art.

      Emily R. Wilson is a Leasing Coordinator at Asana Partners. Wilson has transactional and legal document management experience.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Wilson was a Program Assistant at the University of Florida Foundation, where she assisted with data management, budget tracking, and project organization for the Vice President & Campaign Events’ Department. In that role, Wilson contributed to the planning and execution of numerous high-level events, including two UF National Board meetings. Prior to the University of Florida Foundation, Wilson was a legal intern at the National Academy of Public Administration in Washington, D.C. At the Academy, Wilson assisted with updating the Employee Handbook to reflect recent statutory changes and conducted research for Academy team members on multiple projects.

      Wilson is currently a Master’s of Public Administration candidate with a focus in Community and Economic Development at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Wilson earned a Juris Doctor degree, graduating with Pro Bono Honors with Highest Distinction, and she is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

      Micah J. Holton is the Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer of Asana Partners. Holton has 17 years of accounting and finance leadership experience, including working with both public and private real estate companies in multifamily, retail, and office.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Holton was the Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of MAA (NYSE: MAA), a public REIT and S&P 500 company with a total capitalization of $16 billion. Holton served in various leadership roles over his ten years at MAA as owned and managed assets grew by over $10 billion and units owned grew by over 150% making it the largest multifamily owner in the nation with approximately 99,000 units. Holton managed a 75 person staff and oversaw all aspects of accounting, external reporting, and SEC compliance and was instrumental in the company’s mergers and related integrations with Post Properties and Colonial Properties.

      Prior to MAA, Holton was a Senior Financial Analyst at a publicly traded company, where he focused on budgeting, forecasting, and led execution of capital market deals and investment portfolio strategy.  Holton started his career at Ernst & Young serving real estate, banking, and manufacturing clients. 

      Holton is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  Holton is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

      Grace D. Moore is the Director – Corporate Accounting at Asana Partners. Moore has 14 years of accounting experience, including nine in the real estate industry.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Moore was the Chief Financial Officer of Hammond School where she directed the financial operations of the 980 student independent school.  While at Hammond, she had overall responsibility for the School’s accounting practices and internal controls in addition to the financial reporting to the Board of Trustees, Headmaster, and other key stakeholders.

      Prior to Hammond, Moore supervised the finance and accounting departments for Estates Management Company, a real estate development and management company.  At Estates, Moore participated in the development and operation of multifamily communities throughout the Southeast.

      Moore has also worked as a consultant to the Chief Financial Officer of Carolina Ceramics, a brick manufacturing company with distribution throughout the United States.

      Moore is a member of the Hammond School Board of Trustees, serving on the Finance Committee. Moore earned a Master of Accountancy from the Darla Moore School of Business of the University of South Carolina with a concentration in Business Measurement and Assurance, and she is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Moore is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

      Erika S. Kovacs is the Treasury Manager at Asana Partners.  Kovacs has over 20 years of accounting experience, including eight in the real estate industry.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Kovacs was the Supervisor of Accounts Payable and Accounting at SCANA Corporation. Prior to this role, during her 13 years at SCANA Corporation, Kovacs held positions in Property Accounting, Internal Audit, and Budgeting and Forecasting. Kovacs was instrumental in several software implementations and conversions and in identifying process improvements and working with cross-functional teams across the organization to implement change.

      Prior to SCANA Corporation, Kovacs was a Regional Property Accounting Manager at EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators and developers of retail real estate. She led a team of retail property accountants in the accounts receivable, accounts payable, month-end close and financial statement processes. Kovacs was responsible for producing consolidated property financial statements and providing variance analysis, and she led the Accounts Payable software conversion to JDE.

      Kovacs earned a Master of Accountancy from the Darla Moore School of Business of the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Kovacs is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Walker was an Audit and Assurance Senior with Elliott Davis Decosimo, LLC, where she provided assurance and advisory services to a diverse client base, including those within the real estate investment industry.  At Elliott Davis Decosimo, LLC, Walker managed and conducted comprehensive financial audits, including the performance of risk assessments, review and testing of internal controls, and the preparation of consolidated financial statements.

      Walker has been a volunteer camp counselor with Camp Kemo Programs for the past ten years and is a member of the United Way of the Midlands Young Leaders Society. Walker earned a Master of Accountancy from the Darla Moore School of Business of the University of South Carolina with a concentration in Business Measurement and Assurance, and she is a magna cum laude graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting.  Walker is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Prior to PriceWaterhouseCoopers, McCall was a corporate accounting intern at MAA, a REIT that focuses on the acquisition, selective development, redevelopment and management of multifamily homes throughout the Southeastern and Southwestern regions of the United States.

      McCall earned a Master of Accountancy with a concentration in Audit from the University of Mississippi. McCall graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Accountancy in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrated in Managerial Finance.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Ruff was the Supervisor of Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable at Colite International. She has a diverse payables background including domestic and international customers.  Prior to this role, Ruff was the Accounts Payable Team Lead at Staples, Inc. In this position, Ruff was instrumental in the offshoring process. She developed, coordinated, and delivered the training modules for the integration with India partners.

      Megan is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, earning a Bachelor of Science from the College of Retail Management.

Prior to working with David Frizzell, Watson worked with Marzulla, an environmental federal claims firm Law in Washington, D.C., as a paralegal intern.

      Carol H. Hall is the Director – Accounting at Asana Partners.  Hall has 33 years of accounting and system experience, including 11 years in the real estate industry. At Asana Partners, Hall leads the investment accounting, portfolio operations, and lease administration functions and is responsible for creating value through the delivery of technology-enabled process and analytical tools to the investment management, property management, and leasing terms.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Hall worked as an accounting and reporting systems consultant at Jamestown. Prior to Jamestown, Hall was the Vice President – Portfolio Management at EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. At EDENS, Hall managed the Property Accounting, Portfolio Operations, and Lease Administration teams.  In addition to leading these teams, Hall was responsible for creating value through the delivery of technology-enabled process and analytical tools to the investment management, property management, and leasing teams.  Hall improved the leasing operations data management, streamlined leasing deal flow solutions, and enhanced property forecasting and value creation analysis systems.

      Prior to EDENS, Hall was a Senior Manager with Solectron Corporation where she was instrumental in the creation of the Financial Shared Services Center supporting more than 20 North American locations.

      Hall is a cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

      Jodi M. Fry is a Fund Controller at Asana Partners.  Fry has over 20 years of accounting experience, with over 10 years in real estate accounting.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Fry worked as the Portfolio Controller at Trademark Property Company, a full service real estate firm focused on investments, development and institutional services of experiential, mixed-use and daily needs properties. At Trademark Property Company, Fry specialized in all facets of property management accounting with a proven ability to lead projects and teams, plan, prioritize, manage, and meet multiple deadlines while providing superior level of service to clients and partners. Her knowledge of investments, development, acquisitions, operations, financial reporting and budgeting was an asset to the multiple retail and mixed used properties equating to over 10 million square feet within her portfolio accounting group. In addition to leading these teams, Fry was responsible for creating value with enhancements in property reporting, forecasting and budgeting through the implementation of business intelligence software, standardized reporting and processes.

      Fry earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington.

      Amanda J. Huff is a Manager – Investment Accounting at Asana Partners.  Huff has seven years of real estate accounting experience.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Huff worked as an Accounting Manager at JBG Smith Properties, a publicly traded real estate investment trust in Washington, DC. At JBG Smith, Huff was responsible for managing a team of project accountants with a diverse portfolio of real estate projects and investment funds. In addition to leading a team, Huff assisted in the development of new processes and procedures during the company’s transition to a publicly traded REIT and was involved in the preparation and review of SEC filings. Prior to JBG Smith, Huff worked as an experienced audit associate with the Bethesda, MD office of CohnReznick LLP.

      Huff earned a Master of Science in Accounting from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and she is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Huff is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

      Watkins is a graduate of the Robert W. Plaster School of Business at Columbia College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Accounting.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Bassford was a Property Accountant at Trademark Property where he prepared and analyzed monthly financial statements. Prior to Trademark, Bassford was a Sales Analyst for Southern Marsh – a clothing retailer, specializing in Southern couture and culture. Prior to Southern Marsh, Bassford was a Director of Operations for the LSU College of Music and Dramatic Arts where he oversaw the daily business operations and administrative services of the college while supervising a staff of three.

      Bassford has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University and served six years in the U.S. Air Force – three as a military paralegal – prior to earning his degree.

Prior to PricewaterhouseCoopers, Farmer worked as an Accounts Intern at LK Shields, a leading corporate and commercial law firm based in Dublin, Ireland.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Rivers worked as a Staff Accountant at Southern Community Service, a HOA company where she prepared monthly financial statements, prepared journal entries, and reconciled bank accounts. Previously she was a Bookkeeper at McDonald, McKenzie, Rubin & Lybrand Law Firm where she processed payroll, reconciled bank accounts and prepared all financial statements.

      Prior to Asana Partners, Lutterloah was an information systems consultant at Lowe’s Home Improvement. Prior to Lowe’s, Lutterloah was the Manager – Business Solutions at EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. At EDENS, Missy managed application development/support and data warehousing as well as reporting in Argus Enterprise, JD Edwards, MicroStrategy, and other proprietary applications. In addition to managing these solutions, Lutterloah also developed and oversaw all business-critical application integrations.       Prior to Asana Partners, Aycock was the Executive Assistant to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate.

      A Mississippi native, Aycock is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. Aycock is now active in her church serving in Children’s ministries and as a member of the handbell choir.

      Angelica S. Merg is the Executive Assistant & Office Manager at Asana Partners. Merg has investment sales experience in the commercial real estate industry.

      Prior to joining Asana Partners, Merg was a Production Associate at HFF, a leading provider of capital markets transactions services to the US and the Western Europe commercial real estate industry. While at HFF, she supported the office, hotel, and healthcare brokerage teams with deal marketing and execution within the Carolinas.

      Merg is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Writing and Publication Studies.
