Asana Partners Acquires Deep Ellum Portfolio in Dallas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 5, 2017) -- Asana Partners today announced the acquisition of a portfolio of 28 buildings and eight parking lots in the heart of Deep Ellum, a well-known food and retail destination in Dallas, Texas, and one of the most authentic urban neighborhoods in the country.

“We are excited to be part of Deep Ellum and look forward to adding value here through specialized retailers and strategic capital investment,” said Terry Brown, Managing Partner of Asana Partners.

A dynamic, walkable community, Deep Ellum is immediately adjacent to Downtown and positioned close to dense residential areas of Dallas. While the creative enclave has long served as an entertainment and nightlife beacon for the city, growth in recent years through retail, residential, and office offerings has made Deep Ellum a 24-hour draw.

“The Deep Ellum acquisition is an excellent addition to Asana’s portfolio of urban shopping and dining destinations that are closely connected to their neighborhoods,” added Sam Judd, Managing Partner of Asana Partners. “While this is our first investment in Dallas, we anticipate making additional meaningful commitments to the city over time.”

Asana Partners’ acquisition includes popular food and beverage establishments Pecan Lodge, BrainDead Brewing, Filament, Dot’s Hop House, and Stirr and retailers Jade & Clover and Local Hub Bicycle Co., among others.

King & Spalding served as legal adviser to Asana Partners, and HFF, LP, served as adviser to the seller, 42 Real Estate, LLC
